Turn Fear into Faith
This is an unedited, straight from the heart post, so please bear with me ;)
24 hours from now I'm going to be speaking in front of 50 women, sharing God's truth. Can I be honest and vulnerable with you? I am SO NOT qualified to do this! I walked through Mosaic's doors a mere seven years ago not knowing Jesus, having never picked up a Bible, not to mention public speaking was my worse nightmare.
When asked if I would teach at Coffee Break, I hesitantly, but excitedly said yes. Now that the time is so close to actually doing it, I am anxious, unsure, hesitant, feeling all the feelings. But I also know this is the sweet spot. Yes you heard me correctly. Because if this was easy for me, I would take credit. I would make it about me. My pride would take over. But because I know I can NOT do this, I 100% have to trust and rely on God to simply speak through me tomorrow. And here's the beautiful part... He WILL. Because He is faithful and He always keeps His promises.
And the bigger picture is this: It is not about me - it is about HIS glory. So when I take my proper place, the stress and pressure leave, and expectant faith takes its place.
So the reason I am telling you all of this today is for a couple of reasons...
The first, I deeply believe in thanking God in ADVANCE. So here goes... Father, thank you for all that you are going to do tomorrow. Thank you for stirring the hearts of every woman in that room and being close to them. Thank you for your undeniable presence. Thank you for giving every woman the words they need to hear in this season of life. Thank you for moving in big and unexpected ways. Thank you for loving us unconditionally. Thank you for moving each of us into motion, and into the purpose you have for us. In your Son's precious name I pray.
Also, maybe today you need to be reminded of His promises too:
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Hebrews 10:23
For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him?
His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? Isaiah 14:27thwart means: prevent from accomplishing a purpose. (I had to look it up ;)
This verse basically tells me, I can't mess it up. I can't prevent God from accomplishing His purposes for tomorrow. Hallelujah!
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9
I am very excited for the message God has, and am very expectant for Him to show up in BIG, beautiful, new, unexpected ways! It's not too late to RSVP!
I am going to be obedient, and I am claiming this promise, in Jesus name.
Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say."
