Do You Want an Extraordinary Life?
Exodus was one of the first books of the Bible to come alive for me.
I'd heard the stories of Moses in church, but it wasn't until I read them in
The Word that it felt real in my life.
"I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.”
But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” Exodus 3:10-11
At the time I read this, God was asking me to do something hard--start a magazine. My response was the same as Moses... Who am I to start a magazine?! We read these fantastic stories in the bible of how God asks ordinary men to do extraordinary things, and we think, that it is so cool He did that. Do you want to know something even more incredible?... He is the same God today, with the same unlimited powers, with the same desire to free his people!
God is asking ordinary men and women to do extraordinary things TODAY!
Moses continued to tell God he picked the wrong guy...
Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.”
Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.”
But Moses again pleaded, “Lord, please! Send anyone else.”
Then the Lord became angry with Moses. “All right,” he said. “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he speaks well. And look! He is on his way to meet you now. He will be delighted to see you. Talk to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with both of you as you speak, and I will instruct you both in what to do. Aaron will be your spokesman to the people. He will be your mouthpiece, and you will stand in the place of God for him, telling him what to say.
Exodus 4:10-16
When I started Inspire Weddings & Marriage magazine, I felt inadequate, but God constantely reminded me He was the one in control. He put people in my life to help make this dream a reality. He provided the finances in crazy amazing ways. We simply stepped out in faith and did what He asked us to do.
What is God asking you to do?
As I write this, I am again reminded that God is the one that gave me fingers to type and will instruct me on what to say. Because the truth is, I'm not very good with words. I never have been, and I'm not now... Sound familiar? I'm no longer publishing a magazine (I'll write that story some day soon) but day by day God is preparing me for extraordinary. I'm not special. I simply believe Jesus is real and He can use me. He can use you too. I want extraordinary. Do you?
If so, next time you hear the voice of God simply respond, "Here I am." I promise he will use you in extraordinary ways!

It was surreal to see these pages come to life. |

It was a true privilege praying over the future readers, vendors, and all that were involved with this magazine. |
