A Great Investment

"Be patient with yourself. Self-growth is tender; it's holy ground. There is no greater investment." -Steven Covey

I often get asked the question, "Now that you're not doing the magazine, how are you spending your time?" I typically respond: "Hanging out with two one year old's."  Which is how I spend most of my minutes, but this quote really describes how I've been spending my heart.  I've been immersed in the Word and praying fervently to God for some pretty bold things.  My heart is tender.  I know I'm standing on holy ground.  I know the seeds God is planting, and the prayers I'm praying are going to have a greater ROI than I could ever imagine.

But the truth is, in the midst of this sweet time with my God, I still find myself restless and struggling to be patient with myself.  Anyone that knows me well, knows I am a jump in the deep-end kind of girl.  I love being pushed past my comfort zone into a place where my only option is to trust and rely on God for everything.  And as I type this, here's what God is saying to me... You need to trust and rely on me for everything TODAY - right where you are, doing exactly what you are doing. Yes, yes, and yes.

So with that said, I'm going to step into the rest of the day with these truths at my side...
• We can come boldly and confidently into God’s presence, because of Jesus and our faith in him. Ephesians 3:12

“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be." Matthew 6:19-21

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Photos taken at my in-laws in Newfoundland, Canada.  What a sweet, special moment this was between me and my God.
