The Why and the What

Why I started this blog:
1.) Practice.
I've never considered myself to be a writer, far from actually.  Here are my memories from English class: watching the hands of the classroom clock make a circle every sixty seconds.  That is it.  I was bored.  I had no interest in pronouns and possessive adjectives.  The truth is I still don't.  But what I do have is a passion to encourage others and share the amazing ways God is working in my life.  So while I can't promise perfect grammar, I can promise honesty.

2.) Accountability.
For the past several months I've accumulated a number of word documents with thoughts that I have had.  They were a good starting point, but most of them are unfinished and not well written.  This blog gives me the accountability to finish and refine writing assignments.  Which leads me to my next reason...

3.) Constructive Criticism.
I would be incredibly grateful if you would provide any thoughts, suggestions, or pointers you may have about my writing.  Whether it be about the content, sentence structure, or that I use way too many exclamation points (I can't promise the last one!) I deeply believe we can learn so much from one another if we are willing to put ourselves out there, be vulnerable, and ask for help.  So here I am, humbly asking for your input.

4.) To Encourage Others.
This is really my number one reason...  I know God can use me exactly where I am to help and encourage others.  And even though my days are mostly spent with two one year old's, this is a platform that reaches beyond my living room.

What you can expect from this blog:
Truth - I don't know.  I don't have a strategy or long-term plan for this blog.  My word documents consist mainly of things God has been teaching me through the Word.  I would imagine I'll write about marriage and motherhood as well (you know a few Maddie and Dawson pictures are necessary!) I appreciate your love as I venture into the world of blogging...
